IT'S ESSENTIAL FOR THE INTELLIGENT MAIL BARCODE (IMB)

A Mailer ID is your key to getting data about your mailings using the Intelligent Mail Barcode. It's used to identify mail owners and mailing agents or othe service providers, such as consolidators. The Mailer ID , which is assigned by the Postal Service, can be a 9-digit or a 6-digit number, based on your annual mail volume. The Mailer ID is a field within the OMB and it's used in identifying mailpieces, trays, sacks and comtainers.

HOW DO I GET ONE?

You can apply for a Mailer ID at the District BME by contacting the Mailpiece Design Analyst (MDA). In South Jersey, call 856-933-6003, and the MDA, Traci Cisz, will be happy to assist you. Even if you get her voicemail, leave a brief message, and she will call you back as soon as possible.
